STUDIO AND MISSION

Yoga Mandara is a charming boutique studio, nestled in a residential neighborhood as an oasis.  An island of  peace and  tranquility, amidst a relentlessly busy world.  Our 800 sq.ft. studio is 'Green'!  We support the environment in every way possible, from being wind powered, to using sustainable, non-toxic, building materials.  Your senses are awakened with a profusion of flowers and herbs that bloom in our diverse Bio-Dynamic gardens that surround the property.  Cold weather comfort is a cozy fire and warm friends!

We evolved from an inspiration to create a welcoming space in which to share and delight in the celebration of yoga.  To contemplate the deeper symbols and myths behind the curtain of asana, and to explore the amazing healing power behind the beauty of this exquisite art form.

Movement becomes an extraordinary gift we share.  One that we offer through our intention, attitude, and gesture; and one that we receive as the unexpected blessings of yoga.

Our intention is to empower and inspire students with the knowledge, tools and techniques to create vibrant health and well-being.  Our goal is to educate, to build up and reinforce the whole individual: body, mind, and spirit.  We are committed to helping you feel better by showing you how every pose has infinite possibilities, as we wish all beings infinite peace.

Bio-Dynamically grown flower, herb, and vegetable gardens surround the property and nourish the senses with a profusion of colorful flowers and delicate scents.  We opened the studio in November of 2007, and have been dedicated to learning through authentic teaching in a community of friends, ever since.  Our connection to the natural world is enhanced through imagery and technique, and is expressed as a celebration of life through movement.  We laugh, we dance, and with the support of tools, props, and friends, explore the vast body of knowledge held in the heart of yoga.

Yoga Mandara is located in North Bethesda, in a residential neighborhood; we encourage carpooling for environmental reasons and to reduce our carbon imprint.  We have limited street parking.
